This new book from House of White Birches includes full-size drawings for each of the 101 applique designs, a small drawing of each individual block and a drawing of each block in a four-block setting. In addition, the book contains a chapter on General Instructions which includes the following topics: Making and Using Templates, Supplies and Tools, Applique Stitches by Hand and by Machine, Preparing the Applique for Stitching, Applique Techniques, Reverse Applique, Sets to Use for Applique Blocks and more. Nancy Brenan Daniels, the author, has been teaching applique classes at national and international quilt events since 1975, and she has drawn upon her experiences as a teacher to write instructions that answer the questions quilters ask most often.
This collection of 101 applique block designs has been selected for the beginning- to intermediate-level quilt maker. The designs can be combined into more complex forms for quilters with more experience. In this updated version, Nancy includes five new original blocks. For two of these blocks, she has added a matching applique border design.
